Segrid Coleman Trio

KALA welcomes singer songwriter Segrid Coleman on Friday, July 15 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 online at www.browpapertickets.com

An Astoria-based musician, Coleman will be performing songs from her new release, titled You Avenue, with coastal musicians, Kyle Manship on drums, and Joe Lev on bass.

Colemans 7-song EP was produced this spring by Kyle Manship, owner and Sound Engineer of the new Seaside Sound Studio. Coleman plays guitar and keys, with the addition of rhythm section , synth and piano, creating a full electro/acoustic back up, complimenting her progressive pop/rock song style, in the vein of Kate Bush, Tori Amos and Jane Siberry.

Currently, her song, Give It Up is on play rotation on 94.9 The Bridge. The album is also streaming on all platforms.

Coleman, a longtime solo and collaborative performer in Seattle, moved to Astoria in 2020. Prior, she had performed in Astoria, and dreamed that one day she would move to Astoria and concentrate on songwriting and performance, seeking more quiet and space than city life had to offer. As synchronicity would have it, she met Kyle Manship, and the two began collaborating on the production of Colemans music.

The KALA show will be the first performance with the trio, presenting the songs on the album. When I moved here, I was just so happy to play and create music, I could hardly believe it was really happening - finally! You Avenue is my love song to the North Coast.
