Voices of Generation Zed (VOGZ)
Voices of Generation Zed (VOGZ) 21st July, 7.30pm at YMCA Northumberland
Voices of Generation Zed (VOGZ) is a theatre show made up of 12 short plays, each made by, for and with young people.
These short stories showcase a remodelled world by young people in which being woke and a snowflake is a compliment not an insult. Voices of Generation Zed explores relationships, love, family, education, sex, technology, money and anxiety, and how the most adaptable, feisty and savvy generation is coping with life in a world gone mad.
Each mini play is around 5-6 minutes each and the whole performance lasts around an hour, performed by student actors from Cumbria and produced by a professional team The plays are not related to each other in their stories, but each explores the question what is it like to be young now in a world of exponential change?
Generation Zed (VOGZ) contains sexual swearing and mild sexual references.
Suitable for an audience of 13Yrs+.
It was commissioned during the first National Lockdown by Theatre Factory with award winning writer Kevin Dyer.
Theatre Factory was originally called The Ashton Group Theatre and was set up in 1997 by the current Artistic Director Rachel Ashton. Theatre Factory works in many forms: theatre (indoors, outdoors and online), animation, writing, digital and sound. They make stories in collaboration with children, young people and the occasional adult. Ideas and community are at the heart of everything we do.
Mortal Fools are delighted to host this performance of Voices of Generation Zed (VOGZ) at YMCA Northumberland as part of our Co-Creation Exchange Project.
