JANET WHITEWAY - LIVE AT THE FLYING BEAVER PUBARET!
JANET WHITEWAY - "OH WHAT A FEELING" FRIDAY, JANUARY 17th - 9pm
Janet Whiteway is a keyboardist/singer-songwriter; an "old-school" musician, ultra experienced in front of a crowd with a big voice and an even bigger love of performing. In addition to her own band (the jdw Band), Janet has played with The Elaine Dark Band, Have Mercy, Groovy G, Is My Slip Showing, Princess (the music of Prince), Disco Dyke Divas, Ron Davis, Faith Nolan, The Coe Hill Girls to name a few. She has an extensive songbook of cover tunes, anything from Hank Williams to Elvis; Doobie Brothers to Elton John or Amy Winehouse and Adele. Her original music is just that; original. Gospel, funk and roots influences and straight up pop tunes mark her debut CD "Pure Sunshine". She'll be joined by Jean Deeth on bass (Elaine Dark Band, Groovy G, Is My Slip Showing, jdw Band) and Aimee O'Connor on guitar (Claudia's Cage, Women A Run Tings, Elaine Dark Band, Coe Hill Girls).
Oh What a Feeling, remember those great compilations of Canadian music? Well that's what we're going to bring to the Flying Beaver, a night of music from the great repertoire of Canadian songwriters; we'll feature Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Burton Cummings, Neil Young, Jann Arden and Gordon Lightfoot. We'll throw in some of my tunes and an Elaine Dark classic; you're going to love it!
