Sidestep in Glen
Sidestep formed as a multi-faceted collective for creative musicians in the early seventies in southwestern Connecticut. The core trio, Ken Lovelett, Vincent Pasternak, and Barbara Truex, would spend months writing and rehearsing new material before presenting One Time Only concerts. For their Glen Conservancy performance, Sidestep will dust off a few pieces theyve returned to often over the years, feature a new structured improvisation on Loveletts circular marimba, one of the sound sculptures created by Lovelett not previously used in any Sidestep performance. For this performance, the trio invited long-time collaborator, Chris White to add spoken word to improvised music.
