Participants will be able to identify environmental and service related caused of concrete deterioration and the effect on the structure. Understand the objectives of specifying protective coatings for concrete and the potential contribution this has on environmental and economic sustainability; identify specific performance measures of coating systems and understand how these can counteract the environmental effects to concrete deterioration; compare specific performance data points to assess absolute and relative performance of a coating system in theory and in practice.
