Cult sensation DINA MARTINA returns to Toronto with an all-new show at the Flying Beaver Pubaret on February 14 & 15. After attaining cult status on the west coast and touring nationally, Martina's official New York debut in 2005 sold out in minutes. Her follow-up shows have left jaded audiences (including Whoopi Goldberg, Matt Stone, Bruce Vilanch, Jennifer Coolidge) stunned and clamoring for more.
Miss Martina's new show is the show that wowed the crowds in Provincetown and New York City in the summer of 2013, and like all of Martina's surreal shows, it promises to be an amazing blend of unequalled song, unnecessary dance, unattractive costumes and unbelievable video. Michael Musto dubbed Dina Martina "the most original drag queen working in America today" and director John Waters said, "Dina Martina goes way beyond drag into some new kind of twisted art."
DINA MARTINA has packed venues throughout Seattle as well as in Provincetown, Toronto, Vancouver, Portland, San Francisco and London. Martina has shared the bill with acts such as Margaret Cho, Modest Mouse, Nina Hagen and Village People. She's been nominated for a SPIT Award for Best Solo Show, twice-nominated for the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Off-Off-Broadway Show, and a finalist for the Alpert Award for Performance. She has won two Seattle Times Footlight Awards and The Stranger's 2012 Genius Award for Theater.
