Oscar Celebration at the Balboa Theatre
Once again the Balboa Theatre will celebrate the Academy Awards with a celebration and live broadcast on the big screen, Sunday, February 22. . Reed Kirk Rahlmann returns as Master of Ceremonies with special musical guests.
The most relaxed and fun Oscar party in town. Dress up or down as your favorite nominated movie (literal translation and bad puns allowed.), or as a movie star to add to the celebrities on our runway.
There will be prizes for the most creative costumes. Win movie passes, DVDs, posters, tee shirts and much more just for being there.
Balboa Guess the Winners Contest. Attendance is not required to enter the contest. Ballots are available at the Balboa and on the website www.balboamovies.com
The Grand Prize is a VIP passes for two at the Balboa for 2009.
Reed Kirk Rahlmann is writer and performer who will offer provide entertainment during commercials. He was a founding member of the improv ensemble True Fiction Magazine, and can often be seen down at Pier 39, walking on glass to entertain tourists.
Doors open at 4:30 pm for the Red Carpet procession and the Oscar show shorts at 5pm.
All Seats $10.00
