A Great Colorado Women Stories Event - Launching HERstory with Dorothy Horrell and Marianne Egeland Neifert
We are delighted to have you join the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame for an informative and inspiring talk featuring Colorado Women's Hall of Fame inductees Dr. Dorothy Horrell and Dr. Marianne Neifert.
Dorothy Horrell, Class of 2018, is a trailblazer, educator and community builder, with a history of transformational leadership in education and philanthropy. Her career has been dedicated to empowering individuals, organizations and institutions to achieve their full potential. Recently retired as Chancellor of the University of Colorado Denver, Horrell sees education as the instrument of hope. She says, It changes lives, not just for this generation but for generations to follow.
Colorado's earliest physician breastfeeding champion, Marianne Egeland Neifert, MD, MTS, FAAP, Class of 2020, has devoted more than 40 years to improving maternal-child health. She provided education to diverse health professionals, implemented model lactation services, helped re-establish breastfeeding as a community norm, and advanced the nascent discipline of breastfeeding medicine.
This year, with our Educational Partner, National History Day in Colorado, and longtime supporters, Rocky Mountain Public Media (RMPBS) and Chevron we are launching a new educational initiative dedicated to developing a curriculum for Colorado Youth to learn more about the incredible accomplishments and significance of Colorado Women past and present. This curriculum will be made available to educators and institutions across the state to help our communities understand the impact and contributions women have made over many decades here in Colorado.
These efforts require great commitment and your support, as an independent 501(c)(3), non-profit organization, the volunteer driven CWHF Board of Directors is committed the sharing the stories of our Colorado Womens Hall of Fame inductees with the community through the Education initiative, Inductee Portraits and our Great Colorado Women Film Series and other events throughout the year.
We hope you will support CWHF extend the legacies of our CWHF Inductees. Your contribution is a tribute to 37 years of sharing #Herstory.
