Much Ado About Nothing

Join Vallejo Shakespeare in the Park for our 12th season fundraiser show of Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare.

After returning home triumphant from war, Duke Don Pedro, visit his friend Leonato, Governor of Messina, along with friends and fellow soldiers Count Claudio and Benedick. During their visit young Claudio and Leonato's daughter, Hero, fall in love and pledge to marry, while Hero's cousin, Lady Beatrice, who has sworn off marriage, and confirmed bachelor Benedick, insist they have no romantic interest in each other. Bent on sabotage, the Dukes half-sibling, Don Jon plays a trick on Claudio causing him to call off the wedding, leading to the supposed tragic death of the lovelorn Hero, a rouse by the household to prove her innocence to Claudio. The household also takes on the challenge of convincing Lady Beatrice and Benedick they love each other, in a story of unrequited love, wit and Much Ado About Nothing.

Seating is first come - first served. Audience members are requested to be personally responsible, distance themselves accordingly and are encouraged to wear masks outside of their seating area.

Vallejo Shakespeare in the Park does not provide seating. Our shows are picnic style seating. Bring a blanket to sit on or a low beach chair and a picnic to enjoy during the show.

We recommend wearing a wide brimmed hat and sunscreen during the show.
