"I envision this event to have flow. People in and out throughout the day, dropping in to take a class or two, listen to a speaker, visit the eco-vendors," said Green Wave founder Janine Johnson. "I want people to be on the floor mainly though socializing in circles on their yoga mats, drinking tea, coming up with ideas on how to make an impact in their own lives and in the world."
Tickets are available for purchase on brownpapertickets.com, a company that gives back to fair trade organizations. Please bring your own mats and reusable water bottles although both will be available for purchase at the event. Janine hopes this event will be a day of peace, centering, education, and shift of consciousness and habit or the individuals in attendance and hopefully a spawn of inspired activism. Proceeds of the event will go toward Green Wave's green education initiative for green curriculums in pre-K schools, with a special donation made to Escuela Camino Claro, the first school in Costa Rica where Green Wave will be rolling out its green program, followed by the local Los Angeles communities.
About Green Wave LLC:
Green Wave is a grassroots environmental and peace non-profit created to fund green development and education initiatives. Janine, who is also a Green Girl Guru for TheGreenGirls.com, believes that the essence of yoga and environmentalism go hand in hand, and knows that in order to care for the environment, you must care about yourself first. As a result, a natural extension of yourself to the environment will occur, and can be cultivated through consistent yogic practices.
