YACHATS CELTIC MUSIC FESTIVAL 2022
The Yachats Celtic Music Festival is back! Bigger and better than ever. Enjoy the music of Altan, Talisk, Kalos, Poor Mans Gambit, Rachel Clemente and Dan Houghton, Lisa Lynne and Aryeh Frankfurter, plus our Piper on the Point, Kevin Carr. Get your tickets and make your lodging reservations now, for 3 days of great music on the beautiful central Oregon coast. The Yachats Celtic Music Festival is a delight for young and old. If you are not familiar with Celtic music, it is the grandparent of many of our American music genres. The festival is continuing the popular daytime "pub style" format at the Commons. The doors open Friday at noon with free entertainment in the Commons. Free and ticket required concerts, workshops, jamming, dancing and whisky tasting, takes place all weekend in various venues around town. Celtic inspired food and beverages will be available in the Commons during the festivities.
The village embraces the festival and many Yachats shops and restaurants show their Celtic enthusiasm during the weekend. Experience the magic of watching the sunset at the edge of the earth , while listening to Kevin Carr our Piper on the Point . Sunset is 4:53 PM, however you might want to get there earlier. Enjoy our new Whisky tasting format, and treat yourself to a specially selected variety of Scotch and Irish Whiskies. Rob Gandaras whistle workshop is back and is free in room 3 of the Commons.
The Little Log Church is unavailable this year due to remodeling. The Yachats Community Presbyterian Church has graciously offered us the use of their Church. The Church is conveniently located a short walk from the Commons. Tickets for concerts at the church say YCPC. There will be 4 concerts at the YCPC. Two on Friday and 2 on Saturday. Friday, the always wonderful, Kevin Carr at 1pm. Eric McDonald performs at 5 pm. Saturday, Lisa Lynne and Aryeh Frankfurter perform at 12:00 pm. Mairéad Ní Mhaonaighwill do a solo performance at 4:00 pm. Tickets to these shows go on sale Sept. 1.
Our special Sunday Commons concert returns at 2:00 PM featuring Rachel Clemente and Dan Houghton, and Talisk. This concert will follow the always popular free Sunday morning concert and Ceili dance lessons and community dance. We welcome back Maldon Meehan to show us how to Ceili dance before we dance to the live music of Poor Man's Gambit. Dancing, story-telling, workshops, jam sessions, vendors, food, whisky tasting, and lots of fun awaits you, with additional surprises and treats planned. However, everything is subject to change.
