Douglas & the Firs
Doors at 5pm | Dinner menu available (not included in ticket price) | Music at 6:30pm Douglas & the Firs is the (mostly) solo project of Lansing singer/songwriter and former frontman of Doug Mains & the City Folk. Blending inspiration from traditional folk music and contemporary singer/songwriters like Damien Rice and Cat Stevens, Mains explores questions about self and humanity through contemplative lyrics and his acoustic guitar.
"Doug Mains is a true troubadour and destined to be a Michigan icon of great Americana music" - The Driver Rider & Road Show.
"Like Iron & Wine's more mature musical older brother," - The Local Flow.
Doug has written and recorded two full-length albums, toured nearby twenty states, and collaborated with The Oh Hellos, Lindsey Stirling, Brendan James, The Collection, Small Houses, and Hey Marseilles. After winning the first round, he earned runner-up in the 2014 Eddie's Attic Songwriting Winners Showcase in Decatur, Georgia, second only to Tyler Childers.
Doug Mains' latest creative endeavor presents a collection of original songs, new and known, with a fresh sophistication sure to make Douglas & the Firs his best project yet.
