The Other Islands of J.M Barrie with Andrea Jones
A presentation and book signing with Andrea Jones, author of the Hook and Jill fan fiction series based on the works of James M. Barrie author of Peter Pan. Ms. Jones will introduce her 'Hook And Jill' series that expand the world of Captain Hook and Wendy such as 'Other Islands' which is a recurring theme of his other lesser known works including 'The Admirable Chrichton' and 'Mary Rose' both of which Parkview Playhouse will be presenting in our coming seasons. Jones has also her meticulous reconstruction of the original text of Barrie's original work "Peter and Wendy' by researching the changes it underwent in its many printings and evolution into what we now know as 'Peter Pan'. Barrie's works as well as Andrea's give us a chance to ask ourselves about our own lives and what we might have or yet become if we have the courage to take a different path.
Andrea Jones is author of the award-winning literary series, the Hook & Jill Saga. Within these stories, Jones deepens and explores J.M. Barries famous and infamous characters, and re-imagines the Neverland for grown-up readers who long to return there.
Graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Andrea Jones studied Oral Interpretation of Literature, with a Literature minor. In her career in television production, Jones worked for CBS, PBS, and corporate studios. Jones is known around the world as Capitana Red-Hand of the web-based pirate brotherhood, Under the Black Flag. She is a member of the pirate re-enactment troupe, the Brethren of the Great Lakes. Her home port is near Chicago.
