We will be running a special Double Feature for this month's Dock-u-mentaries, and showing "Spirit of Newfoundland and Labrador Fishing Communities" along with "Cod: Renewing A Bountiful Catch."
"Spirit of Newfoundland and Labrador Fishing Communities": This film explores the spirit behind that renewal--a spirit that is manifested through music about the inshore fishing way of life in northern Newfoundland and coastal Labrador, and through community values such volunteerism and helping one another in times of need.
"Cod: Renewing a Bountiful Catch": This video was created with the help of fish harvesters and scientists from Memorial University of Newfoundland, who describe the abundance of cod stocks pre-1990s and what all of us can do to help with recovery of this important and iconic species.
