Roz Raskin and the Rice Cakes with Vudu Sister
Roz and the Rice Cakes "come together to bring forth new, genre-blasting, rhythmically charged melodies, sounding somewhat like the apocalypse...but having the most fun anyone could ever have doing it. We are constantly manifesting new ideas not only musically, but thinking of ways to engage our awesome listeners."
Yeah, like the apocalypse....but fun. We like it. MLP is very happy to present our first show of 2014 with one of our favorite Rhode Island bands.
Keith McCurdy is a Romanichal singer/songwriter from Providence, RI.
Vudu Sister is Keith McCurdy and Diane O'Connor with additional featured accompaniment by Amato Zinno and Michael Samos.
Vudu Sister craft dark songs through various mediums of gothy, grunge-tinged death-folk.
Coming off playing the 2013 Newport Folk Festival under the Low Anthem's special Newport Homegrown showcase as well as releasing Her second record, "Household Items" on May 4th, 2013 where it was recorded at the Columbus Theatre in Providence, RI. Produced and engineered by Ben Knox Miller and presented by the Columbus Recording Company; Vudu Sister continually travel throughout the U.S playing in venues, theatres, bars, funeral parlors, laundromats, cellars and cemeteries.
