Winner of the Boulder International Film Festival 2022 Peoples Choice Award.
Film screening is followed by a Q&A discussion with Director Katrina Miller.
Boulder, CO, prides itself on being beautiful, welcoming, and inclusive. This image began to very publicly crack in 2019, when a racially-charged interaction between a Black university student and the local police made national news.
Although the particulars of Boulders history are unique, its social trajectory into the 21st century is nevertheless emblematic of many cities across the country that struggle to reconcile their liberal politics with the reality of their communities.
* * * This film contains a brief incidence of strong language. In recounting their experiences, interview subjects will occasionally use the n-word as they describe racism they experienced in Boulder.
