Introduction to Rope
Introduction to Rope (with a Shibari tie thrown in.)

Students should bring two 25-30 foot lengths of rope (size/type is not specific
The first half of the class, we'll be going over basic rope safety, the different types of ropes and their uses, the reasons to tie (and reasons NOT to tie,) and what you could expect and look to get out of "throwing rope" on someone. Included in this will be a couple of the base ties / simple wraps that other ties are built from. Participation and questions during the presentation will be welcome and encouraged.
The second half of the class we'll be learning the standard box tie, and practicing a couple of different variations of it so the student gets a feel for the flow of the tie itself.
