Outcroppings: Central Coast Historical Clues Hiding in Plain Sight
Year after year history piles up in layers, something like strata of sedimentary rock.. Sometimes a successive layer completely covers the last, but not usually; here and there earlier strata poke through into the present to remind us that they're still there, and that they still matter. Geologists call them outcroppings. Similarly, historical outcroppings, artifacts from past times, everywhere intrude into the present -- often hiding in plain sight..
This one session, two-hour, lecture/conversation course is an invitation to sharpen your historical perception by noticing these revealing clues to Central Coast History. Dick Miller will show some telltale examples of local historical outcroppings, and then invite participants to share others they have noticed.
