Joe Patenaude Album Release Concert Party
Hipfishmonthly and KALA Performance Space proudly presents Astoria artist Joe Patenaude in a CD Release Celebration Concert and Art Opening.
Venerable rock and blues guitarist Joe Patenaude just released SNAPFINGER, an album dedicated to original instrumentals, offering a creative landscape of lush guitar compositions, spiced with a few rockin blues tunesPatenaude records and plays on guitars, bass, piano, organ and several vocal numbers, and its mastered by Steve Johnson of Big Blue Studios in Astoria. A departure from years of rock, blues and pyschedelia, yet drawing from all, Patenaude musically paints with programmatic themes, musical memories and using his snap fingers, as he refers to, that have been playing the guitars for over 50 years.
The evening kicks off with an appetizer, art and music reception at 7:30pm. In addition to the album release, Patenaude, also a blues history aficionado, has drawn and presents a collection of pen and inks of Blues Greats including Howlin Wolf, Robert Johnson, Blind Lemon Jefferson and many more, showing in an exhibit for the first time. Framed archival prints will be available for sale, in addition to CDs.
Professional and generous community Chef/Baker extraordinaire Kathy Patenaude creates complimentary appetizers, and beverages will be for sale at the KALA Bar, to the accompanied background of SNAPFINGER.
At 8:30pm, Joe Patenaude takes the stage, joined by bassist Joe Lev, guitarist Lorenzo Carlson and drummer Tom Peake for a set of music, featuring a mix of tunes, with special guests, John Crowley and Michael Metzner.
