Biodegradable Sound Workshop
BIODEGRADABLE SOUND is a two-part artist-led workshop which explores concepts of biodegradability as they apply to music, instrument making, and the sonic arts. For the first session (May 21), participants will craft and decorate their own biodegradable records using materials such as seaweed, gelatin and an assortment of natural pigments. For the second session (May 28) participants will etch up to 5 minutes of any sound or music of their choosing onto the biomaterials using a record etcher provided by the artist.
Day 1: May 21, 2022, 12:00-2:00 pm Day 2: May 28, 2022, 12:00-2:00 pm
Ticket includes admission to BOTH days of the workshop, and it is recommended (but not required) that participants attend both sessions. Ages 12+
Taught by Dann Disciglio, a US-based intermedia artist whose work presents abstracted and re-oriented ecologies so as to produce encounters which engender new, contemporary naturalisms.
