Sky High Happy Hour
Advance paid reservations are required for all tours.
Meet your tour guide in the lobby of Wedge International Tower, then start your Sky High Happy Hour by taking an elevator up to the 43rd floor. When the doors open, you'll step into Houston's highest public restaurant, The 43rd.
In the evening, The 43rd becomes a bar, serving traditional drinks and bar bites. Order a cocktail, then peek inside the individual dining rooms, formerly the executive offices and board room of real estate magnate Vince Kickerillo. Taken together, the windows offer an unmatched panoramic view of central Houston. (Sometimes, a dining room may be closed due to private parties).
Your guide will tell you about the history and architecture of the buildings you see and may throw in a few tall tales as well.
Return to the lobby and walk two blocks with your guide to the Hyatt-Regency Hotel, the second-largest hotel in Houston. You'll be whisked up to the 34th floor in a glass elevator which opens onto the Spindletop restaurant, named after the 1901 gusher that made Houston the Oil Capital of the World. You won't need to stroll around the restaurant after ordering your drink -- the restaurant floor will do the moving for you. It turns 360 degrees in 45 minutes.
When the tour ends, you can return to the hotel lobby with your guide, or you can stay at the Spindletop and enjoy dinner or dessert. You might even choose to spend the night at the hotel.
