A Bending Of Its Own Kind 2.0
"A Bending Of Its Own Kind 2.0" is an aerial and contemporary ballet in which choreographer Rebekah Hampton Barger (founder & artistic director of FALL) examines her experience with severe scoliosis & chronic pain, as well as that of others who live with a variety of chronic conditions.
Commissioned by OZ Arts Nashville, "A Bending Of Its Own Kind" originally premiered in 2017 to an audience with standing room only.
With funding from Metro Arts & a partnership with the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, 2.0 will be presented in June - Scoliosis Awareness Month - to their medical staff, as well as to the general public, with the goal of using dance and performance art as a communication tool between chronic pain patients and their healthcare providers.
NOTE: Friday evening's performance is just for medical professionals, Saturday & Sunday are general admission

Accessibility
Nashville School of the Arts has some challenges when it comes to accessibility, but we've made a plan to hopefully accommodate as many needs as possible. If you have ANY questions, concerns, or specific needs please contact us at bending@FALLdance.org
WHEELCHAIR USERS
Please contact us with the dates you're planning to attend so that we can have a volunteer ready to make sure you find your way into the building (the school campus layout is incredibly confusing).
You will be directed to a separate entrance that has pavement & ramps. However, it is a long way from the parking lot to the performance space, so if going long distances is a challenge for you, then see the next option:
MOBILITY AID USERS
You will be directed to an entrance at the back of the school that will take you straight into the performance space from backstage. This option does not have any stairs & is the shortest route, but be advised that the parking is in the grass & will include a short walk on grass.
