The Side Yard Farm is excited to announce a new partnership with local Latino non-profit Hacienda CDC's culinary incubator, Micro Mercantes. The partnership is a natural fit- a shared neighborhood and entrepreneurial spirits come together to diversify old traditions by offering a cross-cultural family style supper series, Bocado Urbano {Urban Bite}. The family style meal series will feature a co-created menu centered around traditional recipes from Latino businesses participating in Micro Mercantes incubator, inspired by the seasonal, locally grown flare of The Side Yard.
The first event kicks off February, 9th 2014 and will continue throughout the year at various spaces offered by our community partners (the first at Good Keuken in Old Salt Marketplace). The menu is a collaboration between Chef Stacey Givens of The Side Yard and Chef Doña Paula Asuncion of Mixteca Catering. Come experience authentic dishes that span generations of Oaxacan recipes by Chef Doña Paula and her family food business. We invite you to join us for Bocado Urbano, a festive and seasonal celebration, where your attendance goes directly towards supporting a common vision that connects Hacienda CDC's immigrant entrepreneurs to local, urban farming.
