Archbishop Carney Theatre presents Little Shop of Horrors
Archbishop Carney Theatre is proud to present Little Shop of Horrors. Broadway meets Hollywood sci-fi in this horror-comedy musical by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman (Disney's The Little Mermaid, Beauty And The Beast, and Aladdin). It has become a fan favourite with its early 1960s rock and roll, doo-wop and early Motown sound, with several well-known tunes, including, "Skid Row (Downtown)", "Somewhere That's Green", and "Suddenly, Seymour". The meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn (Bennett Renaud) stumbles across a new breed of plant he names "Audrey II" - after his co-worker crush (Carly Warner). This saucy, R&B-singing carnivorous plant (Nicholas Lam) promises unending fame and fortune to the down and out Seymour as long as he keeps feeding it, BLOOD. Over time, Seymour discovers Audrey II's origins and intent towards global domination!
