Somatic Practices
Learn about somatic approaches to sexual, erotic, and intimate wellness from four exceptional body-based sex-positive practioners in Portland, Oregon. Amy Weissfeld, Carlene Ostedgaard, Cassie Porter, and Jess Devries of the Healing Sex PDX professional group will teach how to transform relationship and developmental cultural models of shame and stigma towards holistic healthy body relationships, sacred ritual, sexual empowerment, and connective pleasure. Learn about safe tools for healing body-mind-spirit trauma and liberation. The panel will discuss sexological bodywork, masturbation, body mapping, orgasm, grief tending, and scar healing. These trauma-informed practices are supportive of all bodies, identities, and sensual attractions. The techniques provide pathways to embodied pleasure that can potentially heal you, your clients, and our collective culture.
Learning Objectives: 1.Assess the value of Somatic Sexuality Education in relation to Counseling and Therapy. 2.Evaluate Somatic techniques to release body trauma. 3.Determine when referrals and/or professional collaborations will best serve holistic client wellness.
