Science of Magic Conference Gala Show
This Gala Show takes place on the evening immediately preceding the SoMA 2022 Conference (https://soma2022.bpt.me).
This event will take place at the Amersham Arms, which is just a short walk from the main conference venue (https://www.theamershamarms.net/). **Please note that this venue is age restricted, so all attendees must be at least 18 years old**
Registered conference attendees should receive code that will provide them with a 20% discount for their gala show ticket.
Announced performers include:
-Laura London, Laura London is one of the worlds leading female sleight of hand artists. She is also a highly skilled close-up magician, cabaret performer, motivational speaker and an acclaimed lecturer on various aspects of the history of magic. She has also developed virtual performances which have come into their own during lockdown. Born in London, Lauras interest in magic began at the age of 8 when she saw magic performed by a family friend. Just one week after her 18th birthday, she became the youngest ever female member of The Magic Circle and is now a member of the exclusive Inner Magic Circle, a position that is reserved for the very best and achieved only by election from her peers. Within 6 months of becoming professional, Laura landed her first TV show called Playing Tricks, a ten-part street magic series. Laura was the only female among the six featured magicians. Her other TV credits include ITV1s The Next Great Magician, Penn and Tellers Fool Us, The Magic Party and Children In Need. Her magical talents have been seen at events in Paris, Lisbon, Miami, New York, LA, Sydney, Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Mumbai, Johannesburg, Dubai and The Maldives.
-Edward Hilsum- Edward Hilsum is The Magic Circle Triple Crown Champion: the only magician to have won all three of the worlds most prestigious magic societys competitions, and more incredibly, to hold all three titles at the same time! Obsessed with puzzles and making things from a very early age, Edward's natural desire to understand how illusions work, led him to magic and a first-class degree in Psychology from University College London. Edwards original stage shows have received critical acclaim at the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival and for five years, he starred in the record-breaking 'Champions of Magic' spectacular, touring theatres throughout the UK and North America. Most recently, Edward made his West End debut in Wonderville at the iconic Palace theatre.

-Paul Zenon- Paul has been a professional entertainer and liar for around 40 years, appearing in 40+ countries, and he owns 40 items of underwear. He's 58 though, and currently lives at number 63, proving that Numerology is nonsense. In addition to being a multi-award-winning comedy magician, he is a respected actor and writer, while simultaneously producing odd bits of art and baiting psychics. Possibly best known for being a Children's TV presenter in the early '90s (with no associated investigations), and later as the UK pioneer of Street Magic, Zenon was a regular guest in C4 Countdown's Dictionary Corner from 2004 until Anne Robinson became the host, last year.
-Julius Frack: Julius Frack is one of the most versatile illusionists in Europe. With his grand illusions, he has traveled the world and excited audiences in over 35 countries. He has won many international awards and a high reputation in the world of magic. Among other awards he was titled World Champion of Magic, Magician of the Year and Best of Monte Carlo Magic Stars and he was awarded the Merlin dOr Award. In his illusion shows Julius Frack features breathtaking acts and spectacular effects. He makes human beings appear from thin air, disappear and float - and he even walks through a living body. He defies severe injuries by mental power, reads minds and predicts the audiences thoughts in a mind-blowing, entertaining way.
