Kairos: A Consort of Singers presents Bach Cantata No. 4, "Christ lag in Todesbanden"
URGENT: BECAUSE OF POSITIVE COVID TEST RESULTS AMONG THE MONASTERY COMMUNITY, THIS CONCERT HAS BEEN CANCELLED. APOLOGIES TO EVERYONE WHO RESERVED A SEAT FOR THE CONCERT.
Kairos will present Bach's beautiful and poignant Cantata No.4, "Christ lag in Todesbanden", with chamber orchestra. The concert will also include other works by the Baroque master.
The concert is open to all, and there is a $20 suggested donation to help support the Bach Cantata Series, which is funded entirely by the generosity of our audience members.
This cantata and other music will be performed in honor of Kairos Artistic Director Edward Lundergan, who will be retiring after the Spring 2022 season after leading Kairos for over 25 years. The Bach Cantata Series began 16 years ago, and the first cantata Kairos presented was Cantata No. 4, so it is fitting that Dr. Lundergan's final performance as Kairos Artistic Director is the very first cantata that he conducted.
