Backyard Worm Composting Workshop - Hands-On
It's always time to compost! Would you like natural, homemade compost for your seedlings, potted plants, and vegetable gardens? Learn how to turn your food scraps into a valuable resource for your garden and expand your recycling efforts by signing up for the backyard worm composting workshop taught by UC Master Gardener / UC Master Composter, Bridget Matz.
The class will employ a combination of informal lecture and hands-on participatory activities in order to learn how to source or build a worm bin, where to get worms to get started, how to maintain it as well as tips on harvesting and using your resulting compost. We will send a list of materials to bring if you would like to build your own worm bin to take home.
The fee for this class is $25 and the class is limited to 30 attendees. We recommend all who register for this class also register for the free, virtual class on worm May 4th composting https://mbmg.ucanr.edu/Find_a_Class_Event_or_Meeting/?calitem=524915
Please arrive 15 minutes before 10:00 to sign in. This class will be held outside, please dress appropriately, for sun or fog. Layers, hats, and sunscreen are advised.
