Draig Beats 2022
After a two year break, Draig Beats returns on Saturday the 11th of June 2022 to Treborth Botanic Garden! It is a family friendly, fund raising event, and will contribute to building bridges between local communities working towards a positive post COP26 world. It will offer plenty of live music, talks, workshops, food & drink plus, will showcase local initiatives and will have lots of activities to keep the kids busy!
After this long break we are also regrouping with a new team and have decided to focus a little bit more on wellbeing aspects and a little bit less on music.
We are unpaid volunteers and are trying to keep ticket prices to a minimum but still aim to raise as much money as possible to help support our inspiring friend and colleague Dr Sophie Williams, a former lecturer in plant conservation, who unfortunately lives in a care home following years of intensive care after contracting Japanese Encephalitis.
Whilst building bridges we will raise funds to help Sophie pay for a *Judicial Review*, so that BCUHB (North Wales NHS) can look favourably at Sophie's case again as they have stopped communicating with Sophie's solicitor two years ago. As a consequence she sadly faces a life in a care home permanently, 70 miles away from her friends, her community, and her colleagues at Bangor University.
All profits raised will support this cause, and will also be shared with the volunteering group Friends of Treborth Botanic Garden, so please join us for a great day out and help us raise as much money as possible!
We have a great lineup of music and entertainment to announce over the coming weeks, so please keep checking our facebook page and help spread the event amongst your friends.
