OzCon 2022
Join us for a full day of in-person Ozzy fun and programming at the 58th Annual OzCon International! After two years of virtual-only meetings, were so ready to return sunny California and the beautiful Kellogg West Conference Center on the Cal-Poly campus in Pomona. Near three major airports (Ontario, John Wayne, and LAX) and seated atop a wooded hill with lovely views, this site can feel almost like Oz itself!
Our 2022 theme is Animals in Oz, inspired by the centenary of Kabumpo in Oz, a Ruth Plumly Thompson favorite. Well explore those talkative and helpful animal companions in the Oz books, from Toto to the Flittermouse. Well revisit the animal communities of Oz and unique characters like the Lonesome Duck and the Curious Cottabus. This year well also raise a glass to the most famous actress to portray Dorothy Gale, Judy Garland, one hundred years after her birth!
Our guest speakers so far include award-winning filmmaker and photographer Glenn Roberson and award-winning film producer Ashley Chase presenting their new short film DOROTHY, Awarding-winning artist Eric Shanower, Oz scholar Dina Massachi, Oz author Steve Cox, and Winkie Convention co-founder (1964) and Oz bibliographer Peter Hanff. Watch for further updates on guest speakers by following us on OzCons social media pages.

OzCon festivities will actually start on the evening of Friday, July 15, with a welcome meal and social gathering (with full bar) at the Kellogg West in Pomona. This is private function for OzCon attendees only, so you must register and pay for this meal in advance to attend.
The 2022 OzCon program will begin on Saturday, July 16, at 9am and run through 10pm. Well offer single-track programming throughout the day and evening so you wont miss a thing. And of course well have our wonderful dealers of Oz books and memorabilia; a silent auction of rare Baum, Thompson, and Oz material; the challenging quizzes and other Ozzy activities; and relaxing after-parties!
This year we will once again offer a range of meals to purchase in advance. For breakfast all OzCon attendees staying on site may enjoy a muffin and juice in the OzCon VIP lounge. Folks can order lunch and dinner as they register for the conference. Please note that these meals must be purchased in advance of your arrival! There are no restaurants on the conference grounds (rather like our old site at Asilomar), but many Pomona restaurants are a short drive away. (Guests and programming are subject to change. No refunds can be issued.)
You must make your own lodging arrangements. We have a large block of hotel rooms on hold at the Kellogg West, but those are sure to sell out. You can also extend your stay a day ahead or beyond the convention dates. So dont delay in reserving your spot. As always, you are welcome to share a room with another OzCon attendee to make your stay more affordable and more fun. Kellogg West hotel rooms have such features as refrigerators, coffee makers, daily newspaper, wall-mounted HDTVs, and complimentary high-speed wireless internet access. The hotel offers a swimming pool and spa and complimentary parking.
