FRIDAY, MAY 20, 2022: The San Francisco Scottish Fiddlers and world-renowned Scottish fiddler Alasdair Fraser return to Berkeley LIVE and IN PERSON for the first of three concerts in our traditional Spring Concert Series.
Our players come from all over the country to share this annual celebration to play by heart. The deep and joyful music of Alasdair Fraser's inspired solo fiddle along with the full band of a hundred musicians captures the essence of springtime. The massed ranks of fiddles are joined by cellos, guitars, drums, harps, flutes, basses, and piano. Over the past year we spent the summer absorbing the music, the winter distilling the arrangements and composing harmonies, and now we invite you to share our very best work.
Come with us on a musical journey across the world of fiddle music from northern California to Quebec, to Ireland and Scotland, and north to the Shetland Islands.
There is a 15% discount on the ticket price for those 65 and over, 18 and under, or for a block of 5 or more tickets. So buy a block, and bring some friends! (Discounts cannot be combined.) Seating may be limited by COVID distancing policies. Get your tickets early!
This concert will be followed by an open-air concert at Salesforce Park in San Francisco on SATURDAY, MAY 21, 2022 at 3pm, and a matinee at the Bankhead Theater in Livermore on SUNDAY, May 22, 2022 at 3pm.
