Come enjoy a live sky show highlighting the features of the current night sky. Take a tour through our solar system as we fly to the planets and moons of the solar system. Learn about the structure of our Milky Way galaxy as we locate our place in our galaxy and beyond. Enjoy our feature presentation Dynamic Earth.
The award-winning Dynamic Earth explores the inner workings of Earth's climate system. With visualizations based on satellite monitoring data and advanced supercomputer simulations, this cutting-edge production follows a trail of energy that flows from the Sun into the interlocking systems that shape our climate: the atmosphere, oceans, and the biosphere. Audiences will ride along on swirling ocean and wind currents, dive into the heart of a monster hurricane, come face-to-face with sharks and gigantic whales, and fly into roiling volcanoes.
Event Date: Friday, April 8th Time: 7:30PM - 8:30PM Capacity: 45
Planetarium shows may not be suitable for people who are prone to motion sickness or seizures issues. Children who are afraid of the dark should certainly be accompanied by an adult or sitting with an adult. Effective Monday, February 28, MCC will no longer require masks/face coverings to be worn on campus. However, while we are lifting this mask requirement, in alignment with the Governors recommendation, mask-wearing will still be encouraged, and respected, for those individuals choosing to continue this health and safety practice. MCC also strongly advises our event attendees and individuals in crowded classrooms or highly populated areas of campus to continue wearing a mask when there is difficulty distancing. MCC is a community of respect and care, and our priority remains to provide a safe and healthy campus for everyone. This includes daily intensive cleaning of all spaces, air filters, and other mitigation measures in place.
