April Dock-u-mentaries: Campbell's Last Set
Rhode Island fisherman, singer, and poet, Jon Campbell passed away peacefully on January 9, 2022. A regular performer at the Working Waterfront Festival, Jon inspired and emceed the Something Fishy Round Robin, a CD recording by the same name, the 2012 Festival t-shirt, and the Nautical Tattoo Contest. A keen observer of the world around him, Jon said about his songwriting: When you live in an interesting place where interesting people are doing interesting things, all you have to do is make it rhyme.
We will be running an in-person screening of the virtual Fisherpoets Gathering 2022 tribute to Jon Campbell. Masks are recommended, doors open at 6:30 PM.
The virtual tribute includes performances from Marina Campbell, Larry Kaplan, Moe Bowstern, Jon Broderick, Dano Quinn, Geno Leech, Mary Garvey, and Joe Houlihan providing their own interpretations on Jon Campbell's music and poetry.
