FLESH: Bought and Sold in the U.S.
Human Trafficking Awareness Month Event Co-Presented by the League of Women Voters Huntington Guest Speakers: To Be Announced Flesh is a shocking documentary that calls into question definitions of slavery, human trafficking, and prostitution in the United States. Through a series of interviews with women who have been or are currently enslaved, current and former pimps and those working to fight human trafficking, Flesh explores the entangled causes of this criminal industry in the United States. The camera captures prostitutes on the streets of Los Angeles and reveals the heartbreaking reality of "the game," while former prostitutes tell of the atrocious ways they were enslaved physically and psychologically and the moving stories of how they escaped. Flesh goes behind the scenes of the third largest criminal industry that preys upon girls, whose average age of entry is twelve to fourteen.
