Kona Brewers Festival
The 14th Annual Kona Brewers Festival surfs onto the shore of Kailua Bay on Hawaiis Big Island Saturday, March 14, 2009. Tapping up more than 60 types of ales and lagers, served alongside island-style cuisine from 25 Hawaii chefs. The sell-out outdoor event features craft beer, tantalizing food, live music and entertainment on the shore of Kailua Bay at King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel in Kailua-Kona from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. This years event is presented by First Hawaiian Bank, The Gas Company and Puna Geothermal Venture. The Kona Brewers Festival is a culminating event of a multi-day celebration that includes a beer and food pairing dinner at the Outrigger Keauhou Beach Resort Thursday, March 12,and a charity golf tournament at Big Island Country Club Friday, March 13.
The Kona Brewers Festival is a community fundraising event made possible by the Bill Healy Foundation that promotes the craft brewery revolution in Hawaii and encourages professional brewers and chefs to work together. The event raises funds for environmental, educational and cultural organizations. It has raised more than $300,000 over the past 13 years.
