Friday Night Line-up with Roger Monkhouse, Justin Panks, Aideen McQeen & Alan Francis (MC)
A showcase of hand-picked comedians for a fabulous Friday Night line-up in the Festival's favourite Wharfside venue!
Starring:
ROGER MONKHOUSE
One of the most intellectual comics in the business, Roger Monkhouse oozes class with every syllable he utters, be it a wry observation or a witty one-liner.
A most original and distinctive act, Roger is a consummate stand-up who employs a deadly combination of charm and menace to exert a masterful control over any audience. A highly original and quirky performer, and one of the hottest names in comedy.
"His laconic delivery shields an engaging persona and an enquiring mind" - The Guardian "Unfailingly entertaining and skilfully able to pull punchlines, seemingly, out of thin air" - Chortle
JUSTIN PANKS Unapologetically fearless and committed to his cause, Justin wades into the underbelly of everyday life - surprising, shocking and delighting audiences with well-crafted jokes disguised as anecdotes.
"The perfect balance between the relatable and the outrageous" - Jongleurs Supreme confidence and unfailing hilarity" **** Bath Echo
AIDEEN MCQUEEN
One of the brightest sparks in the new generation of Irish comics. Sassy, sexy, saucy and side-splittingly funny.
"Aideen is such a strong act...she can open a gig, close it, compere it and, if necessary, pull out a guitar and do sing-songs afterwards" - Des Bishop
Former Bath New Act Finalist.
ALAN FRANCIS (MC)
Alan is a hugely versatile actor, writer and stand-up comedian. From winning 'So You Think You're Funny' way back in 1991, to TV credits which include Alan Partridge and co-writing Alistair McGowan's Big Impression, Alan has enjoyed a wealth of appearances on stage and screen. A master of acutely observed character monologues, combining the sinister and surreal with brilliant sardonic wit.
"A brilliant Observational Stand-Up" **** The Scotsman "Brazen, dark and clever" **** The List
