A NIGHT OF CLASSIC HOLLYWOOD SCANDALS
Join film scholar Glenn Andreiev for a lively journey through some of Hollywood's most notorious scandals. Modern tinseletown scandals splashed across gossip websites have nothing on the alarming and jawdropping Hollywood scandals of long ago. Those scandals involved high crimes and sometimes murder. Film scholar Glenn Andreiev returns to the cinema with an evening of peeking into the truly dark side of classic Hollywood. Who murdered silent film printdirector William Desmond Taylor? Did world famous comic Fatty Arbuckle really kill a young starlet? Was one of the most respected directors of all time a wife murderer? Scandals involving Wallace Reid, Jean Harlow, Thelma Todd, Robert Mitchum and Charlie Chaplin fill the program. Andreiev will also show how some scandals bought about crusading films and laws protecting people in the entertainment field. Film clips and rare photos help make this an evening to remember.
