CHICAGO Rare performances (the Early Years)
The American rock band Chicago (originally The Chicago Transit Authority) reinvented rock with the addition of horns and a big band sound. Soon after their start, a lawsuit with the transit company in their home town resulted in the shift to the name that identifies them to this day. Despite a number of member changes, their harmony and sound remain recognizable. Although no stranger to social commentary and early experimentation, the band had some of its biggest hits with sentimental and romantic ballads that became instant classics. They have 22 gold, 18 platinum, and 8 multi-platinum albums, had 5 number-one albums, and 21 top-ten singles. This exciting tribute will focus on their early years, starting in 1969 and going into the early 1980's. Rare concert films and videos from multiple venues will thrill fans, and show why Chicago is still popular today. Highlights will include "25 or 6 to 4," "Color My World," "Feelin' Stronger Every Day," "If You Leave Me Now," and "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?" No Chicago fan will want to miss this spectacular celebration of this classic band. (Approx: 110 min.)
