GRAND SLAM STORY: A STORYTELLING WORKSHOP (5 WK)
Want to tell powerful true stories without schmaltz to a packed audience of adoring fans? Let essayist and three time Moth Grand Slam Winner Cole Kazdin share her tips for turning heartbreak, humiliation, and tragedy into two riveting five-minute pieces that are the perfect mix of vulnerability and comedic vavoom. In this five week class, you'll learn how to find what's funny in your foibles, structure a compelling story and connect solidly with your audience. You'll get targeted feedback on your drafts to help you polish up your diddies for submission, and you'll read one of them at a show at Writing Pad. By the end of the class, you'll have written two polished essays that are ready to submit to storytelling shows in LA like Taboo Tales and Sit n Spin.
