ANTJE DUVEKOT and SETH GLIER
Next Stage Arts Project and Twilight Music present a twin bill of award-winning contemporary folk singer/songwriters Antje Duvekot and Seth Glier Friday, January 10 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are  $16 Advance / $18 At the Door, available online at www.nextstagearts.org, and Offerings Jewelry in Putney, VT.

Antje Duvekot is a German-born, American-raised singer/songwriter whose songs have been critically praised for their hard-won wisdom, dark-eyed realism and street-smart romanticism.  Her bicultural upbringing and relative newness to English have helped shape her unique way with a song, giving her a startlingly original poetic palette.  They are the keys to the powerful, even revolutionary, empathy that informs everything she writes.  She has won some of the top songwriting awards including the Grand Prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition, the Kerrville Folk Festival Best New Folk Award and the Boston Music Award for Outstanding Folk Act.

Since the release of her debut studio CD "Big Dream Boulevard," which was voted #1 Folk Release of 2006 by the Boston Globe and was named to the Top 10 Releases of the Year by National Public Radio's Folk Alley, Antje has been touring extensively, criss-crossing the US and Europe.  She is a compelling live performer and has played at major festivals, including Newport, Mountain Stage, Philadelphia, Falcon Ridge, Great Waters and Kerrville.  Her second CD "The Near Demise of the High Wire Dancer" was voted top album of 2009 by lauded folk station WUMB 91.9 FM in Boston.

"She creates an entire, detailed world in verse, and takes you there with beautiful and understated melody.  Her songs are stunning paintings of color and shade and always generate the heat and light that real art should." - Neil Dorfsman, producer of Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Dire Straits

"terrific writer and singer, with the instincts to do things right, over and over and over" - Rolling Stone.

Singer, songwriter, pianist, guitarist and Grammy nominee Seth Glier is renowned for his fearless vocal delivery, musical exuberance and seasoned songwriting beyond his years.  Since the release of his album "The Next Right Thing" in 2011, the 24 year old Massachusetts native has shared the stage with artists as diverse as James Taylor, Ani DiFranco, Martin Sexton, Toad The Wet Sprocket, Emmylou Harris and Ryan Adams.  A troubadour in every sense of the word, Seth plays over 250 shows a year, headlining his own concerts and major folk festivals.

Seth's latest CD "Things I Should Let You Know" is steeped in all the most gorgeous aspects of Americana, folk, blues, pop and soul.  The songs weave tales of love, pain and epic self-realization from a young man coming into his own, all wrapped in sweeping melodies and striking vocals.  For this third album on MPress Records, Seth worked with co-writers for the first time, penning songs with Livingston Taylor, Ellis Paul and Marshall Altman.

As a national spokesperson for the Autism Awareness Foundation and an advocate of Musicians On Call, and with a ROCK THE VOTE Road Trip 2012 stop under his belt, Seth has become increasingly comfortable expressing his social beliefs, both onstage and off.  In 2012 he took home Best Social Action Song for his track "The Next Right Thing" at the 11th Annual Independent Music Awards, his second IMA win.

"Singer with an exquisite tenor echoes Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel." - USA TODAY

"He's earnest and endearing  a pop craftsman who comes in peace, eager to sooth and inspire." - M Music & Musicians
