New Universes: George Crumb's Makrokosmos at 50
This concert celebrates the legacy and music of American composer George Crumb, who recently passed away in February 2022.
The focus of this concert is the 50th anniversary Crumb's 1972 masterwork Makrokosmos for solo piano. Pianist Nic Gerpe will juxtapose Crumb's piece with newly commissioned works by Juhi Bansal, Viet Cuong, Eric Guinivan, Julie Herndon, Vera Ivanova, Gilda Lyons, Alex Miller, Fernanda Aoki Navarro, Thomas Osborne, Timothy Peterson, and Gernot Wolfgang.
