ADAM LEVIN has been praised by renowned American guitarist Eliot Fisk as a "virtuoso guitarist and a true 21st century renaissance man with the élan, intelligence, charm, tenacity and conviction to change the world." Levin has performed extensively throughout the US and Europe and received numerous top prizes, including the Fulbright Scholarship, the Program for Cultural Cooperation Fellowship from Spain's Cultural Ministry, and the Kate Neal Kinley Memorial Fellowship to study and perform contemporary Spanish guitar repertoire in Madrid, Spain. From 2008-2011, Levin commissioned thirty solo guitar works from four generations of contemporary Spanish composers. In 2012, production began on a four volume encyclopedic recording project with Naxos and companion publication with Brotons y Mercadal Edicions Musicals, presenting these 30 Spanish works. Levin's first disc in the series, 21st Century Spanish Guitar, Volume 1, was released in May, 2013. Adam Levin is also a member of Duo Sonidos, a professional chamber partnership with violinist William Knuth. The duo has commissioned several new scores and transcriptions for their distinctive combination and won 1st prize in the 2010 Luys Milan International Chamber Music Competition in Valencia, Spain. Levin has released four additional critically-acclaimed albums, including his 2009 debut, In the Beginning; the self-titled debut album Duo Sonidos (2010); Music From Out of Time (2010), featuring diverse contemporary guitar-based chamber music by contemporary Spanish composers; and Fuego de la Luna (2011), featuring guitar works by Cuban- Spanish composer Eduardo Morales-Caso. Levin's 2013-2014 season includes concert tours of Spain as well as his New York solo recital debut at Le Poisson Rouge, his Atlanta recital debut at Spivey Hall, and the chamber debuts of Duo Sonidos in Baltimore, Washington, DC, Philadelphia, and Detroit.
