The Bruery Black Tuesday Vertical Dinner at Urge Gastropub
Oh man, are we excited about this one! We've managed to hoard together 2 bottles of each and EVERY vintage of The Bruery's Black Tuesday and it's time to crack'em open. Joining us will be the one and only Patrick Rue as we go through 5 courses of specially prepared and paired dishes from our Executive Chef Marc Liautard. Each guest will receive about 4 oz. of each vintage with each course. Here's the menu:
Course 1 - Trio Blend Sliders: 2 Sliders made from a House Blend of Brisket, Short Rib and Chuck topped with Spring Mixed Greens, Vine Ripened Tomatoes, Black Tuesday Beer Aioli and Sandwiched between House-Made Brioche Slider Buns. Paired with 2009 Black Tuesday - 19.5% ABV 100 Points
Course 2 - Frisee and Portabello Salad: Bitter Endive topped with Butter Sauteed Portabello Mushroom, Candied Pecans, Sun Dried Tomatoes, Crumbled Blue Cheese and Drizzled with Black Tuesday-Bacon Dressing. Paired with 2010 Black Tuesday - 18.2% ABV 100 Points
Course 3 - Roasted Cacao Braised Short Rib: Slow Cooked, Cacao Dusted Short Rib in a Black Tuesday Gravy with Young Diced Carrots and Yellow Onions. Served with Barley and Bacon Wrapped Haricot Verts. Paired with 2011 Black Tuesday - 18.3% ABV 100 Points
Course 4 - Bourbon Glazed Crispy Atlantic Salmon: Flour Dusted Petite Salmon Filet, Pan Seared with Skin on and Topped with a Black Tuesday and Black Maple Hills Bourbon Reduction Glaze. Served with Rice Pilaf and Steamed Asparagus. Paired with 2012 Black Tuesday - 19.2% ABV 100 Points
Course 5 - Sweet and Smoke: House Made Nutella, Grand Marnier and Pistachio Truffles. Served with a mild Cigar (seriously). Paired with 2013 Black Tuesday - 18.9% ABV 100 Points
Please bring a coat as we will most likely be stepping outside for atleast part of the last course. We expect that this dinner will last a few hours so that we all have time to relax and enjoy the experience. These are incredibly heavy beers, please consider the manner in which you will safely get home. Making taxi arrangements ahead of time are recommended.
