ANNIE & THE OAKIES + NICK BROWN AND ANDREW HARRISON
Annie & the Oakies may be new to the Madison acoustic music scene, but they have deep roots. Evolving from longtime regional favorites the Oak Street Ramblers, Annie & the Oakies features Annie Emmenegger on guitar and vocals, Ian Alderman on mandolin and vocals, Jeff Kunkle on bass, Mark Schlutt on banjo and vocals, and Tina Thompson on fiddle and vocals. The band recently recorded their debut album on the stage of the Stoughton Opera House and will be performing it in its entirety at this show.
Nick Brown is a singer and songwriter based in Madison, Wisconsin. A longtime musical collaborator and bass player, Brown released his debut album, Slow Boat, in 2012. Browns second album, the EP Contender released in 2017, featured the skilled hands and musically proficient minds of longtime Madison players and bandmates Andrew Harrison (electric and pedal steel guitars), Ben Wolf (drums, percussion, synths), Rusty Lee (keys, synths) and Pat Logterman (upright bass, gourd banjo). Brown is currently working on a new album, tentatively called Dubuque Leisure Services. Two new singles, Somewhere and Ghosts were released in 2021.
