Join Fruit Tree Program Manager Steve Hofvendahl and Master Gardener and Fruit Kahuna Herb Machleder for a comprehensive, two-session Fruit Tree Grafting Workshop.
Session One in the morning (9 - noon), will introduce participants to this fascinating subject with an in-depth discussion of the wisdom and science of grafting presented through demonstration.
During Session Two in the afternoon (1 - 3), participants will gain hands-on experience grafting apples and may take their grafted fruit tree home to plant. Tools, materials, rootstock, and scion wood will be provided.
This workshop is only open to present and past participants of The Huntington Botanical Gardens "Train - the - Trainer" and "Growing Your Green Thumb" Programs.
This is a grant sponsored course intended as professional development for people actively involved in teaching gardening on a community, education, or professional level.
