Storytelling with Motoko
Motoko Folktales from Japan Saturday March 15, 2014 10am $10, $8 members, $6 Youth
Parents' Choice Award-winning storyteller Motoko enchants audiences of every age with her weaving of ancient lore, original tales, lyrical movement and traditional music. A native of Osaka, Japan, Motoko has trained with master mime Tony Montanaro, and with master storytellers Eshu Bumpus and Elizabeth Ellis. Her featured appearances include PBS' "Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood", CarnegieKids in Miyazaki Concert sponsored by Carnegie Hall.
Origami Workshop Saturday March 15, 2014 11am Free with admission to performance After the performance, join Motoko as you learn the traditional Japanese art of paper folding through hands-on origami activities appropriate for all ages.
