Park Slope Homebrew Tour
Despite New York's gnat-size apartments, NYC homebrewers refuse to let space limitations detract them from their mission: crafting some of the city's tastiest beer. On this tour, you'll meet three of the city's finest amateur brewers, who will display their set-ups, discuss their craft and, most importantly, open up their stash of superlative beer.
Today's tour is going to be a blast. We're starting with Pete Durning, whose kegerator will be cranking out a session IPA and a Belgian dark strong ale, an amber ale and a brown porter. Next, we're headed down the road to meet Men's Journal editor Tyghe Trimble and award-winning homebrewer Chris Pagnotta, who will be pouring winter-friendly barrel-aged beers. Think: imperial stouts.
Lastly, we're going to finish up with Sam Burlingame, who runs the BrewHeister beer-making workshops. As Sam says, "I'm five batches deep at the moment, so there should be an interesting assortment come 2014." His kegerator shall be flowing, that is for certain.
Eat a big lunch. Your guide is NYC beer journalist Joshua M. Bernstein, the author of Brewed Awakening and The Complete Beer Course.
