(Season Premiere) Weird! True Hollywood Tales Presents Tears Of A Clown
Get ready for another season of strange tales of the famous and unfortunate!
If laughter is the best medicine for pain, then comedians are society's doctors. Unfortunately, comedians aren't the happiest people themselves, and often end up needing a dose of their own medicine.
A startling number of comedians with potentially brilliant careers have had their lives end in tragic deaths. Some became comedy icons thanks to their start on comedy shows such as SNL, others fought for freedom of speech and pushed the envelope of what stand-up comedians could say or do on stage, and still others spent decades paying their dues in comedy clubs before finally making it big in television or movies. But these "shooting stars" of comedy burnt out quickly and died before their time.
Comedy performers such as Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor, Freddie Prinze and others left a legacy of laughter despite their private heartbreaks and tragedies. Join us for our season premiere, when we introduce legendary 20th-century comedians whose work made us laugh but whose lives and deaths were no laughing matter.
Starring Lashonda Lester, Michael Priest and Norm Wilkerson Hosted by Luke McClory
