Hounds and Grounds
The sustainable landscaping initiative, Midwest Grows Green (MGG), is excited to present its first dog agility and wellness fundraiser! Please bring your furry friends to Canine Therapy Corps for an introductory agility course experience with Stacey Hawk, owner of Hawk City K9. Additionally, MGG's Ryan Anderson will share expert insights and tips for how homeowners can keep dogs safe from synthetic lawn pesticides and fertilizers.
All proceeds will support the following work: -MGG's Technical Assistance Program that helps landscape managers eliminate synthetic chemicals applied on greenspaces of parks, soccer and football fields, natural areas and more (see bit.ly/MGGassistance). -The Pet Fund that provides financial assistance to owners of domestic animals in the US who need veterinary care.
Further details: -Dog owners can choose one of four time slots: (1) 10 to 11:30 am, (2) 11:30 am to 1 pm, (3) 2 to 3:30 pm and (4) 3:30 to 5 pm -Each time slot can accomodate up to 10 participant pairs (owner + dog). -5 pairs will traverse the agility course for 30 minutes while the other 5 pairs will attend the natural lawn care informational session. -Stacey Hawk (owner of Hawk City K9) and her team of trainers will provide agility course guidance and instruction. Each dog will have a private instructor to complete the agility course. -All participating dogs must be comfortable working in close proximity to other dogs. -MGG's Ryan Anderson and Good Nature Organic Lawn Care will present expert insights on natural lawn care and pesticide risk reduction. -After 30 minutes, the groups of five pairs will switch. -Participants may enjoy refreshments after completing the agility and info session activities. The kitchen will be stocked with coffee, food and Athletic Brewing Co. brews. All food and drink is complimentary, but we kindly suggest a donation to support MGG's Technical Assistance Program at bit.ly/MGGdonation. -Each attendee will receive a goodie bag that contains dog toys and food from PetsSmart, Jiminy's and more. Vaccinations: We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants, so please note these two vaccination requirements: -Attendees must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination for entry. After registering, please send an image of your COVID-19 vaccination card to Ryan Anderson at randerson@ipminstitute.org.
