Le Vent du Nord Concert
Not only considered an incomparable Francophone ambassador, Le Vent du Nord is a driving force behind Quebec's progressive folk movement, as well as a flagship group in Quebec's traditional music renaissance movement. Since its foundation in 2002 it has experienced a meteoric rise that never ceases to amaze! He has performed more than 2000 concerts on 4 continents, has released 10 albums and been the recipient of many prestigious awards including a GRAND PRIX DU DISQUE CHARLES CROS (France), two JUNO AWARDS (Canada) as well as he was awarded ARTIST OF THE YEAR at the International Folk Alliance Conference (2004) and at the Canadian Folk Music Awards! In 2015, he won a FÉLIX atADISQ and in recognition of his international outreach work, was the first recipient of the TRANSATLANTIC BRIDGE Award awarded jointly by BabelMed/Mundial Montreal in France. More recently, he was honoured to receive the Édith Butler/Bell Media Award (2019) from the Société des professionnels auteurs-compositeurs du Québec (SPACQ). His qualities as a performer, arranger and composition as well as his very strong stage presence imbued with a deep generosity are now recognized worldwide. Today composed of singers and multi-instrumentalists Nicolas Boulerice, Simon Beaudry (since 2003), Olivier Demers and Réjean Brunet (since 2007) and AndréBrunet (since December 30, 2017) thegroup performs works from the traditional repertoire as well as original compositions. A music that, without a doubt, is well of its time.
